Former Australian wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist has advised Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni to retire after the end of IPL 2025 as he has nothing left to prove to anyone in the sport. Dhoni is currently leading CSK in the ongoing season after their regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad got ruled out due to elbow injury.

In his conversation with Cricbuzz, Adam Gilchrist hailed MS Dhoni for heroics throughout his cricketing career and advised the former Indian captain to bid adieu to the IPL after the ongoing season. "MS Dhoni has nothing to prove to anyone in the game. Well, he will know what to do but, for the future, perhaps he does not need to be there next year. I love you MS, you are a champion and an icon," Gilchrist was quoted as saying by India Today.

CSK to face PBKS at Chepauk on April 30

CSK will now face Punjab Kings in their upcoming IPL 2025 fixture at M.A Chidambaram Stadium on April 30. The five-time champions aren’t having a great season as they are placed at 10th position in the points table with just two win and seven losses. They are now on the verge of getting knocked out from the playoffs race and could only finish with maximum 14 points.

CSK will now look to get a big win against PBKS to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs. Meanwhile, PBKS are still in contention to reach the playoffs and will be looking to get ahead in the points table with a big win over CSK. In the last gmae between both the teams in New Chandigarh this year, PBKS defeated CSK by 18 runs in a high-scoring game with Priyansh Arya smashing his maiden IPL ton.
