Carlos Alcaraz has taken the world of tennis by storm ever since he started playing pro. The 21-year old has impressed people around the globe with his tennis skills and has already established himself as a main-stay in the world of tennis. Having already won 4 major Grand Slams, including 2 prestigious Wimbledon titles and an Olympic silver medal, Alcaraz has already cemented his place in the global tennis scene. At the mere age of 19 he also became the youngest ever player to acquire the ATP World no. 1 ranking. He is currently ranked World no. 3 in the singles category.
While Carlos has already made a name for himself at a global level, he isn't the only Alcaraz making headlines. Carlos Alcaraz has three siblings; Alvaro, Sergio and Jamie and out of those Jamie Alcaraz has been making some headlines. In 2023 he won the Rafa Nadal Tour event held in Madrid. A lot of the winners have gone on to win grand slam titles in the future including Rafael Nadal and his elder brother Carlos Alcaraz himself. Carlos recently spoke about this in an interview with Moluskein.
A new Alcaraz in the making?
Carlos Alcaraz was worried about people’s expectations building around his younger brother. He said ‘I worry that people might overwhelm him too much. I don’t like people pressurizing him too much just because he’s my brother," as quoted in Essentially Sports. He also said how he wants to be a role model for his brothers not just in tennis but also in life.
Jamie Alcaraz also recently won his first qualifying match at the Les Petit AS, with him being just one victory away from the main draw of the Premier fixture on the Junior European tour. Although he failed to qualify for the main event, he definitely attracted some eye-balls with his performance.
