Virat Kohli gave multiple reminders to India teammates during BGT 2024-25: Reports

As reported by the leading media houses, not many took Virat Kohli’s stance seriously at that time seeing the tour go out of India’s hand after series of dismal performances, including that of Virat Kohli, who could only score 185 runs at a poor average of 12.14 in the five-match series.

But with Indian selectors now discussing for England Test tour, it is being reported that Virat Kohli reached out to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and informed that he wanted to call it a day in Test cricket. Furthermore, it is stated that it came as a surprise for the concerned member too, seeing him keep Kohli a key member in the Indian squad for the England tour.

Moreover, a source close to the development was quoted as saying by TOI, “A new WTC cycle is starting. Future and continuity has to be kept in mind as far as the team is concerned. Even coach Gautam Gambhir would want a set of players he is likely to work with for an extended period. There can’t be any stop-gap solutions for such an important series. The last two Test series haven’t been ideal for the team and the England series is very crucial.”

Seeing Kohli also speculating to put curtains to his illustrious career, the BCCI along with the selectors will have a tough task to see a suitable candidate for the number four position , especially seeing the England Test series ahead.
