The Anderson-Tendulkar trophy between India vs England went down the wire as the series was led by England 2-1 until the final match which was played at the Oval. India went all in to win the match in order to prevent themselves from getting defeated in the series while England were favourites to win the series. A special performance from team India created history at the Oval as India went onto win the final test by the least of margins separating both the teams by just six runs.
Reacting to the Historic win of India in the final test of the series and preventing series defeat at England, The Head Coach of India Gautam Gambhir stated that he is delighted with the result and stated that the whole team deserved every bit of the victory due to their hard work and resilience until the final moments of the game. Gautham Gambhir stated that he is proud of the work that his team has been putting in since the last few months. The coach highlighted that he cannot take the name of a particular individual as the whole team has struck through thick and thin and have produced exuberant performances throughout the tournament.
Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna’s lethal combo became the weapon for Captain Shubman Gill
The fiery spells from Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna fired back to back wickets for India, keeping them in the game and eventually winning it in the very last moments of the game. Siraj picked up an incredible five wicket-haul to his name and Prasidh Krishna picked up four wickets to dig the grave for England in the final test. Gautam Gambhir stated in his interview that Siraj’s performance in this test series was absolutely brilliant.
The Captaincy of Shubman Gill led from the front as the team found strength to make a comeback. When asked about the captaincy of Shubman Gill, Gautam Gambhir stated, "I think he's done a fabulous job. That's all I can say, and he'll keep doing good for Indian cricket."With this a thriller of a test series between India against England came to an end and both teams went back with the series drawn 2-2
