Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant met with a major car accident on Friday (30 December) as he was travelling to Roorkee from Delhi. The 24-year-old suffered several injuries and is still admitted to a hospital in Dehradun. Meanwhile, Pant’s family, friends, and fans pray for the cricketer’s speedy recovery. Ishan Kishan, who is considered to be really close to Pant, also wished for his friend’s quick recovery. 

Kishan also talked about his feelings when he heard about Pant’s accident. Ahead of the first innings of the 1st T20I between India and Sri Lanka, Harsha Bhogle asked Kishan about Pant referring to a viral video in which Kishan is seen stunned after hearing about the news. Replying to the same, Kishan revealed that at first, he thought it was a minor accident and people are making a big thing out of it.

“When I first heard the news, thought it was a normal accident and people are making a big thing out of it, but when I got to know, I was really scared. Don't know how fast my heartbeat was during the Ranji Trophy game. We wish him a speedy recovery and wish him all the best,” said Kishan. 

Notably, Pant is recovering from the injuries he suffered in the accident. The BCCI had revealed in a release that Pant has suffered a ligament tear in his knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe. 

"Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment," BCCI had said in a statement.
