Indian men’s cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid said that he is yet to sign a contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ). The contract will allow him to continue as the head coach of the senior men’s team. Notably, Dravid agreed to the contract extension with the Indian cricket governing body on November 29 after there were rumours that he was unwilling to do so. 

On November 30, when asked if he would continue as the team’s coach till the T20 World Cup 2024, Dravid said that he has yet to sign the contract but had a detailed discussion with the committee. The former India cricketer was appointed as the coach of the team in 2021, his tenure concluded after the ODI World Cup 2023.

After the review meeting with BCCI Chief Jay Shah and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar on Thursday, Dravid said that he is yet to sign the contract. He told the PTI, "I haven't yet signed a contract with the BCCI but had discussions on tenure. Once I get the papers, I will sign.” Earlier on Wednesday, the cricket governing body announced a tenure extension for the head coach as well as the support staff. 

The announcement read, "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the extension of contracts for Head Coach Mr. Rahul Dravid and the Support Staff of Team India (Senior Men). The BCCI engaged in productive discussions with Mr. Rahul Dravid after the term of his contract ended following the recently concluded ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and unanimously agreed to further the tenure.”
