Team India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal revealed he struggled with mental health following his divorce from social media influencer and choreographer Dhanashree Verma. Both Chahal and Dhanashree got married in 2020, but it ended in 2025 when the Bombay High Court granted them divorce on March 20. Their separation drew a lot of media attention and during those times, both Chahal and Verma chose to stay silent. However, after four months of the incident, Chahal appeared on Raj Shamani’s podcast and talked on several topics linked to his life.

During his chat with Shamani, Chahal also disclosed that he never cheated in his life, and during the tumultuous period, he used to have suicidal thoughts. “After divorce, I was called a cheater but I never cheated in my life. I am very loyal. Probably, I am more loyal than others. For my closed ones, I have always thought by heart. I used to think about committing suicide. I was fed up with my life. I used to cry a lot and was sleeping for only two hours. It happened for more than 40 days. I used to suffer from anxiety attacks and my close ones only know what I went through,” said the 35-year-old.
