After a disappointing Asia Cup campaign, the Indian team will take on Australia in a home T20I series. During this tour, India and Australia will play three T20I games. The fixtures are scheduled for September 20, 23, and 25.

The Australian team recently won their ODI series against New Zealand, where they won all three ODI games. India will set up a strong set of players against Australia in the forthcoming T20I series as it will be one of the last dress rehearsals for the T20 World.

Australia squad for the India tour:

Aaron Finch (c), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Tim David,  Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson,  Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis,  Matthew Wade, Cameron Green, Adam Zampa

The Indian team has always been blessed with incredible batters and tradition continues for this series. The Indian captain  Rohit Sharma will be leading the line as he had some incredible knocks in the Asia Cup. Then comes KL Rahul, who comes back to the team after a long injury layoff.

He didn’t have a great Asia Cup and the Australia series will play a key role in his selection for the world cup. The next player on the list is one of the greatest players in the world, Virat Kohli, who has found his electrifying form back. Kohli was the highest scorer in Asia Cup and also hit his 71st century. The top-order will be rounded off with Suryakumar Yadav, who is still finding his feet in international cricket.

The Indian middle and lower-middle orders are full of some exciting players who can turn any game around in a matter of deliveries. Hardik Pandya is the top all-rounder in the team and had some great performances with both bat and ball in the Asia Cup and the other recent tours.

Similarly, Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel will be the other all-rounders with Pandya, but both these players haven’t got a lot of chances in the Asia Cup. Hence this tour will be important as some great performances could help them save a spot in the World Cup squad. Now moving to keepers Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik will be the top contenders and will battle it out for the starting wicket-keeper’s role.

Bowlers:

The Australia tour will see the return of Jasprit Bumrah who had to miss the Asia Cup due to injury. Similarly, another bowler who could see a return after health issues is Harshal Patel as he has missed some time because of a rib injury. The bowling lineup will be completed with the bowlers from the Asia Cup squad like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal and Deepak Chahar. Mohamed Shami will also make his return to white-ball cricket.
