India to play three-match T20I series against Ireland in August 2023; schedule announced

It is to be noted that Ireland will be hosting India for the second time in a year’s time.

The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue will tour Ireland for a three-match T20I series after their tour of West Indies in July-August 2023 . The Cricket Ireland on Wednesday, June 28 announced the full schedule for the three-match T20I series against India, which will be played from 18 to 23 August 2023.

 

It is to be noted that Ireland will be hosting India for the second time in a year’s time. Talking about the schedule, all three matches of the series will be played in Dublin’s Malahide.

While announcing the schedule for the upcoming tour, the Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland, Warren Deutrom said, “We’re delighted to welcome India Men back to Ireland for the second time in 12 months. We saw two sold-out matches in 2022, so to have a three-match series this year should give even more fans the opportunity to enjoy what is always a memorable occasion.”

 

The Chief Executive also acknowledged the Indian broad BCCI as there were speculations of the India skipping the series. “Our sincere thanks to the BCCI, first for their continued inclusion of Ireland in the India team’s busy itinerary and also for working with us to ensure as fan-friendly a schedule as possible,” Warren added.

 

While the Indian team will come into this series after playing a multi-format tour to West Indies and the United States of America in July and August. Whereas Ireland recently ended their ODI World Cup 2023 hopes as they were knocked out of the Qualifier in Zimbabwe.
