India and Pakistan playing against each other in any form of cricket is a high-octane clash. And with the kind of game the two teams produced the last time they met, at the 2022 T20 World Cup, the anticipation for their next meeting is already high. While the arch-rivals are set to play against each other at least two times in 2023, they might play only once in 2024. India and Pakistan will probably meet each other in the group stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The organizers of the tournament have already started planning for the big game of cricket. As West Indies and the U nited States are all set to jointly host the T20 World Cup 2024, it’s reported that the India-Pakistan game is likely to be hosted in the US. As per a report, the ICC Venue inspection team recced the cricket stadiums in different cities of the US- Oakland, Florida, and Los Angeles.

“The ICC events team headed by Chris Tetley had travelled up and down back in May when they inspected a lot of grounds across various cities. A few weeks back (December), they again came back and narrowed their search,” USA Cricket president Atul Rai was quoted saying by PTI.

“The ICC wants to give us at least 18 months' time to get all the venues ready and functional for a global event. During the last inspection, they checked out the Oaklands Coliseum in San Francisco and a ground in Los Angeles (Woodley Cricket Field). They also looked at grounds in Dallas and Texas,” added Rai.

The report also claimed that ICC events’ biggest box office fixture -- India versus Pakistan -- is likely to be held in the USA and not the West Indies keeping in mind the crowd support for both teams. “Preferably it will be held in the USA considering that India’s T20 games against West Indies in Florida were a complete sell-out,” said Rai.
