On Monday, August 26, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the updated schedule of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which has been moved from Bangladesh to UAE recently. With that, the schedule of the Indian women’s cricket team for the upcoming world T20 tournament is final, which will include four matches in Group A after a couple of warm-up matches.
India are slated to be in Group A of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 alongside New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Australia. After playing the opening match of the tournament against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 4, India will take on their arch-rivals at the same venue on October 6 in an afternoon fixture.
Just three days later, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host India’s fixture against Sri Lanka before they go up against the defending champions Australia at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 13. The top two teams from Group A of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will make it through to the semi-final stage of the tournament.
Before beginning their group stage campaign in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, India will also participate in two warm-up matches at the ICC Cricket Academy grounds in Dubai. On September 29, the Indian women’s cricket team will take on West Indies, and they will kick-off the month of October with a warm-up match against South Africa.
The grand finale of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will happen on October 20, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
