After the conclusion of India’s tour of Zimbabwe, the Men in Blue will travel to Sri Lanka for a limited-over tour. The Sri Lanka tour is scheduled to be played in July-August 2024 and will comprise of three T20Is and as many ODIs. While the tour will commence with a three-match T20I series on July 27, followed by ODIs from August 2 to 4.

However, this will be former Indian cricketer turned Head Coach, Gautam Gambhir’s first assignment with the senior men’s team, the team is yet to be announced.  Sources close to SportsTiger have revealed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce the squad on July 18. Furthermore,  the side is likely to miss some big names, like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.

While Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have reportedly requested BCCI for an extended break, the Indian board is looking to rest Jasprit Bumrah. Moreover, in absence of Rohit Sharma, who retired from T20I, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are the front-runners to lead the side.
