Sunrisers Hyderabad have opened their account in IPL 2022 by winning their first game against Chennai Super Kings. CSK have faced further slump in this tournament by losing their fourth consecutive game of the season so far.

Kane Williamson winning the toss as expected opted to field first and invited CSK to bat on a tough track. SRH were pretty impressive with the ball as Chennai batters were struggling to get runs on board. Especially Tamil Nadu players like Washington Sundar and T Natarajan played fantabulous cricket as both of them picked 2 wickets each against this depleted Chennai side. Among CSK batters only Moeen Ali got a decent score with the bat, while Ravindra Jadeja's 23(15) in the end helped CSK to post a respectable total of 154/7.

SRH in the chase had a solid opening partnership off 89 runs from Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma which made the job easier for them to chase down a total of 155 runs in the end.

Youngster Abhishek Sharma played fantastic strokes and impressed everyone with the quality of knock he played while opening the batting as he ended up scoring 75 runs from 50 deliveries. CSK bowlers completely looked out of sorts and lacked the intent to play aggressive cricket which meant they ended up losing this game by a big margin of 8 wickets with 14 balls to be spared.

Rahul Tripathi coming in at number 3 smacked a 15-ball 39 in his short cameo, which helped to improve the run-rate of his team quickly to achieve the target.
