In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) played an aggressive brand of cricket under Rajat Patidar’s captaincy and bagged the coveted trophy. During the tournament, cricket fans got to witness some sensational performances. Among young players, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, Arshdeep Singh, and Yashasvi Jaiswal put up solid shows while talking about veterans Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and KL Rahul they too had a blast in the marquee T20 extravaganza.
Talking about star performers from the overseas category, Jos Buttler, Trent Boult, Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Josh Hazlewood, and Noor Ahmad did their best for their respective teams. Openers: Sai Sudharsan and Virat Kohli
Sai Sudharsan did an exceptional job for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the competition and won the Orange Cap. The southpaw notched up 759 runs with a ton and six fifties in 15 matches and ended up as the leading run-getter in the competition. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star player Virat Kohli made an essential contribution to his team’s maiden title success. The 36-year-old smashed 657 in 15 matches.
Middle-order batters: Jos Buttler (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer (C), and Tim David
Jos Buttler looked sensational for GT as a top-order batter, accumulating 538 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 163.03. Suryakumar Yadav also served Mumbai Indians (MI) efficiently in the competition. He concluded the tournament as the second-leading run-scorer in the competition with 717 runs in 16 matches.
Shreyas Iyer did a fine job as a skipper for Punjab Kings (PBKS). Under his leadership, Punjab reached the final for the first time after 11 years. Talking about his batting numbers, he scored 604 runs in 17 matches at a strike rate of 175.07. RCB's Tim David also looked phenomenal as a finisher. The Australia batter struck 187 runs in nine innings at a phenomenal strike rate of 185.14.
All-rounder: Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya did a decent job as an all-rounder for MI. The 31-year-old notched up 224 runs and picked up 14 wickets in 15 matches.
Bowlers: Josh Hazlewood, Prasidh Krishna, Jasprit Bumrah, and Noor Ahmad
Josh Hazlewood spearheaded RCB’s bowling attack from the front and grabbed 22 wickets in 12 contests. The lanky speedster ended up as the third-highest wicket-taker in the competition. Prasidh Krishna also did a magnificent job for Titans. He picked up 25 wickets in 15 matches and became the recipient of the Purple Cap.
Jasprit Bumrah showcased his excellence with the ball for Mumbai and clinched 18 wickets in 12 games. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) couldn’t perform as per their reputation this season but their spinner Noor Ahmad performed brilliantly for the team. He claimed 24 wickets and 14 matches and ended up as the second-most successful bowler in the tournament.
Impact Player: Naman Dhir in, Prasidh Krishna out
Naman Dhir played his role efficiently in MI. He hoarded 252 runs in 12 innings of 16 matches, at a brilliant strike rate of 182.60.
