Just like in Formula 1, the driver with the quickest lap time during the course of a race's entirety of laps gets the award for the fastest driver in that particular Grand Prix, the winner of the IPL Super Striker Award goes to the batter who scores his runs at the highest strike rate during the course of a season (but with a minimum of 100 deliveries faced).

It's all about how quickly you score your runs. And when it comes to the shortest or briefest format of the game, it eventually boils down to how rapidly you score and also how aggressively. Isn't it?

Truth be told, in a format that, let's face it, is a touch leaning towards batter with their being concepts like the PowerPlay and related phenomenon, there's hardly a surprise to note several batters who have scored at pretty stunning strike rates, consistently uping the ante of runs.

The award for the Super Striker in the IPL was actually introduced in the season 2018 and is on at the moment with, obviously the 2025 winner to be decided at this edition's conclusion. Over the years, several batters from around the world have not only glorified the concept of big hitting and consistently scoring in that fashion, but in doing so have accentuated the rise of the IPL as a global phenomeon.

Of course, such a thing is bound to happen when one gets to see pure hitters and sublime strikers of the ball playing together in the common league, think for instance - Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Kieron Pollard, Sunile Narine and Glenn Maxwell (and the likes).

Having said that, what's rather emphatic is to note that several West Indians have happened to achieve this prestigious award, which isn't always the most easy thing to do, given one has to score consistently at the highest possible rate with many vying for this eminent crown.

In that respect, there's also little surprise that the man to first win the maiden Super Striker IPL Award hails from the West Indies and his winning feat was immediately imitated by his fellow countrymen in the subsequent IPL seasons.

What's interesting is that the award that has, thus far, been given on 7 occasions, sees 4 separate West Indian batters with the honour.

But do you remember the first man to have won it? Well, if in case, you do not, there's nothing to worry. For we have it all covered for you. But before you get to read the full list of the IPL Super Striker award winners, a question must be asked:
