Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan who is known for his witty remarks against India’s cricketing arch-rivals Pakistan once again trolled the Men in Green after their exit from the Asia Cup 2023. In an epic nail-biting encounter on September 14, Thursday, the reigning champions took down Babar Azam’s squad to reserve their spot in the final.
While the fans were anticipating a high-octane India versus Pakistan on September 17, the ex-cricketer is of the belief that it would have been a lop-sided game.
The 38-year-old said that hadn’t it been an India versus Sri Lanka fixture, the Men in Blue would have dominated the match single-handedly. With this, Pathan took a brutal dig at India’s biggest cricket rivals on their elimination from the tournament. Pathan took to Twitter and wrote, “Playing finals against Sri Lanka will be better for team India as it won’t be a one-sided affair.”
This isn’t the first time that India’s bowling stalwart has trolled the neighbours. Earlier, Pathan tweeted, “khamoshi chaai hui hai kaafi🤐 lagta hai padosiyo ne Tv ke sath sath mobile bhi tod diye hai.” His tweet came after India defeated Pakistan in the Super Fours fixture.
Notably, India became the first team to secure their spot in the Asia Cup 2023 final as they defeated Sri Lanka in a Super Fours clash to reach the finale. On the other hand, the reigning champions gained a last-ball victory over Pakistan to book an encounter with India on September 17, Sunday.
