R Ashwin praises India's batting vs Bangladesh
He tweeted, “We are not used to an approach where batsmen throw it away after making 30’s 20’s, but it is about time we embrace an approach like this especially while batting first. Top Intent from all the Indian batters so far.”
Biggest issue is we give hero status to someone and forget: Ashwin backs Gautam Gambhir
The spinner came in support of former India opener Gautam Gambhir who is in links to be India’s next head coach. During the launch of his book “I Have the Streets - A Kutti Cricket Story”, Ashwin backed Gambhir while stating that he is a very ‘misunderstood’ person. Ashwin said, “Gautam Gambhir is a very misunderstood person. It's all about perception. He is a fighter. The biggest issue with many of us is that we give hero status to someone in our mind and forget about everyone else.”
He added, “This is a sport, not a movie narrative. There are no heroes and villains. Gambhir is a competitor. His desire and hunger to win is unbelievable. I have massive respect for him.”
