The Indian captain Rohit Sharma was heard on stump mic, hilariously trolling Ravindra Jadeja for bowling continuous no-balls on Day 2 of the third Test match against England at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The England cricket team are currently 207/2 in just 35 overs in response to a first innings total of 445 from India.
The incident involving Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma happened in the 31st over of the England innings when the visitors were in control. Jadeja was pushing hard for a wicket during his spell, and he overstepped a couple of times in quick succession.
After the second no-ball from Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who was fielding in the slip region, said to his bowler on the stump mic about approaching the innings like a T20 game. He was caught saying, “Jaddu aaja sabaash ye T20 hai, no ball allowed nahi hai (Jaddu, come on it's a T20 game. No balls are not allowed here)”.
Notably, the four over spell in the final session of Day 2 proved to be very expensive for Ravindra Jadeja, conceding 33 runs in just four overs to a rampaging English top order. Ben Duckett was not out at the close of play on second day after scoring 133 runs in just 118 balls, which included 21 fours and two maximums.
England will be looking to build on their good start with the bat in the first innings on Day 3 with Ben Duckett and the veteran Joe Root, who is unbeaten on nine off 13 currently.
