Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season, has generated a lot of interest from top clubs around the world, with everyone racing to secure the Belgian midfielder’s signature. De Bruyne’s illustrious career at City which spanned for 10 years, saw him win six league titles, one UCL, and also a historic treble under Pep Guardiola. But it now seems like the club wants to move on from their veteran midfielder and build their team around younger players.

Italian giants Napoli seemed to have entered the race to sign the 33-year-old on a free transfer and it is also now being reported that De Bruyne has given his green light for the transfer to go through. De Bruyne has asked his representatives to negotiate a fair deal with Napoli, while it was also being reported that his wife Michel Lacroix was spotted in the Naples city and the purpose of her visit was said to be house hunting. It seems like De Bruyne has already started to plan for his life beyond Man City and it will be interesting to see whether this move actually materializes.

Napoli drops crucial points against Genoa in heated Serie A title race

Napoli's Serie A title aspirations took a significant hit on May 11, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Genoa at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Despite twice taking the lead through goals from Romelu Lukaku and Giacomo Raspadori; both assisted by the in-form Scott McTominay, Napoli conceded an own goal by goalkeeper Alex Meret and a late equalizer from Johan Vasquez. This result leaves Napoli just one point ahead of Inter Milan, who earlier secured a 2-0 victory over Torino, intensifying the title race with only two matches remaining.

The match also saw midfielder Stanislav Lobotka forced off early due to an ankle injury, adding to Napoli's concerns. Manager Antonio Conte urged calm and focus, emphasising the team's need to capitalise on their dominance, as they registered 22 shots with 11 on target and maintained superior possession. With upcoming fixtures against Parma and Cagliari, Napoli must secure victories to clinch the championship, while Inter faces Lazio and Como.
