Australia pacer Mitchell Starc has commended KL Rahul’s contribution to Team India over the years, saying Rahul is like Mr. Fix-it for the Men in Blue. Rahul did an excellent job for Team India against New Zealand in the crucial final of the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai on March 9. Rahul walked into the middle in the crunch situation when India required 68 in the last 11 overs of the game. He stood at the middle until the end and ensured India’s victory in the 49th over with his unbeaten 34 off 33.
Rahul started his career as an opener in Team India but when the team management asked him to settle as a middle-order batter, the right-handed batter took the responsibility and delivered fine numbers to his side while batting at number five. In the last few years, the 32-year-old has been justifying his job as a wicketkeeper as well. Recently, Starc appeared on the Fanatics TV YouTube channel and admired Rahul’s potential to adapt in different roles to serve Team India efficiently. "KL Rahul is like Mr. Fix-it for India - He has opened the batting when asked to, batted at Number 6, Kept, fielded, batted in middle order. He has done just about everything, he has played vital roles, excited to play alongside him," said Starc.
Starc and Rahul to unite for Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2025
Both Starc and Rahul will be seen donning Delhi Capitals (DC) colours in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After getting released from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), India stalwart went under the hammer in the IPL 2025 auction held in Jeddah and bagged a contract of INR 14 crore from DC.
Delhi reserved the services of Starc for INR 11.75 crore. DC will want him to be fierce with the ball and spearhead their fast-bowling unit confidently. In Kolkata Knight Riders’ third IPL title win in 2024, the star Aussie bowler chipped in with 17 wickets in 14 outings.
