The 32nd match of the Indian Premier League on April 17 between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knigh t Riders could face rescheduling or relocating as per latest reports. The fixture was scheduled at Eden Gardens in Kolkata but could be moved to a different date or venue citing security allotment issues.
The report about this development revealed that the major stakeholders in the IPL like tournament authorities, the local cricket body and the broadcasters have hinted at this possible change of plans. The main reason behind this possible rescheduling is the festival of Rama Navami, celebrated with great furore around India.

Cricbuzz reports that local authorities are concerned about providing adequate security to the fixture, especially with the general elections simultaneously taking place in India. With these factors in play, the BCCI is contemplating to possibly reschedule this fixture.
The reports further claim that BCCI and the Cricket Association of Bengal are in contact with the police to handle this issue. Speaking on the issue, a top IPL official, quoted by Cricbuzz, said, "The discussions are on with the police authorities and we will take a decision soon."
So far in IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have looked great with two wins in the first two games. The Knight Riders have defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Similarly, Rajasthan has taken down the Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals in successive home victories.
