The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) have suffered a massive blow ahead of their next clash against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI). The Delhi-based side will miss the services of Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who also missed DC’s last two fixtures.
The 29-year-old has reportedly picked up a groin injury, which has ruled him out of the next few matches of IPL 2024. As reported by ESPNcricinfo, the Indian spinner has been advised rest as a precautionary move, but the confirmation on his return to play again , hasn’t been revealed yet.
Moreover, according to reports, the injury is not a serious one as he has been travelling with the side and is currently in Mumbai ahead of DC’s away fixture against Mumbai Indians (MI). Furthermore, the reports reveal that Kuldeep Yadav will be closely monitored by the Indian selectors, given that he is the front-runner to take a spot in the spin department for the T20 World Cup 2024.
The 29-year-old is currently placed at 30th spot in the Purple Cap list with only three wickets from two games so far in IPL 2024. However, he hasn’t featured in DC’s last two fixtures out of the four games. Speaking of the Capitals, the Pant-led side are reeling in the bottom half of the points table with just a solitary win from four matches, only above MI, who are yet to win a match in the 2024 edition of the tournament.
