Lamine Yamal, who has been part of Barcelona since 2023, signed a new six-year contract from Blaugrana, who won their 28th LaLiga title recently. The 17-year-old played a vital role in Barca’s success as he chipped in with nine goals and 15 assists in 35 outings in the Spanish league. Talking about his overall performance in the season, he has scored 18 goals in 55 contests. Back in 2023, the Spanish broke into Barcelona’s squad as a 15-year-old. In the last couple of years, he has evolved a lot as a winger. His contract with Barca was set to conclude at the end of the 2025-26 however, noting his excellence this season, Barca didn’t take time to hand him the new contract.

Barca released a statement which revealed that the teenage footballer signing up the new contract on May 27, accompanied by the Club President Joan Laporta and Sporting Director Deco. "Yamal's renewal is a demonstration of the solidity of Barca's project. His emergence on to the world football scene is like few others. The lad from Mataro near Barcelona has exploded on to the stage that is world football with performances that are already part of Barcelona history,” said the club in a statement.

Yamal has achieved exceptional success in Barcelona in the last couple of years. In his stint, he has racked up 25 goals in 115 matches for the club. He also holds the feat of being the youngest scorer in the history of La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

Besides that, he also possesses the record of making 100 appearances for Barcelona. Noting his extraordinary career thus far, Barca supporters are expecting him to emerge as a massive figure like Lionel Messi, who also earned fame through the club’s La Masia Academy.
