Each match will be worth one point on the first day, two points on the second day, and three points on the third. The first team to reach 13 points will win the Laver Cup.
The players for each team will be selected based on their ATP rankings as of August 21, 2023, with four players qualifying automatically and two players being chosen as captain's picks. The captains for each team will be former players who have won multiple Grand Slam titles. The captain for Team Europe will be Bjorn Borg, while the captain for Team World will be John McEnroe, who has won seven Grand Slam titles.
