Punjab Kings have got off to a great start in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 under the leadership of a capable captain in Shikhar Dhawan. While they won their tournament opener, beating Kolkata Knight Riders by seven runs in a rain-affected match, they doubled their join after beating Rajasthan Royals in what was IPL’s first match in Guwahati.

Despite a great start, the Punjab Kings have some points to worry about. One of them is England all-rounder Liam Livingstone. The England batter’s arrival has been delayed after he failed to regain full fitness.

According to a report published by Cricbuzz, it is being reported that Livingstone might join the squad by mid-April. It also read that the 29-year-old has not regained fitness and has been working with his Lancashire County Cricket Club teammates.

“He’s due to arrive mid-April. He is still working through his rehab on the injury. He is currently working on his rehab at Old Trafford. He will be in India around April 15, the dates are fluid,” an ECB official was quoted by Cricbuzz.

The England all-rounder was signed by the Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings in December 2022 at the Player Auction for INR 11.50 Crore. The side also boasts with the likes of English all-rounder Sam Curran, who was the most expensive player in IPL history. The Punjab-based team has also acquired the services of Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza, Matthew Short, Nathan Ellis, Kagiso Rabada and Bhanuka Rajapaksa as their overseas signees.
