The Argentine World Cup-winning captain Lionel Messi is currently in the Sunshine State of Florida to kick-start the newest phase of his club career at Inter Miami. La Pulga had landed in the USA on July 11, Tuesday, at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, while being accompanied by his wife and three sons.
According to the Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami, Lionel Messi will be presented as their player officially on July 16, Sunday. They have planned a “major unveiling event” on the day, to show the world the might of their club and revolutionize the Beautiful Game in America.
In the days leading up to the big event, the 36-year-old has already made his presence felt in Miami. On July 13, Thursday, many pictures were circulated online, in which he was spotted shopping for groceries at Publix, the largest supermarket chain in Florida. During his time there, the former Paris-Saint Germain player looked in good spirits, carrying his trolley filled with supermarket goods for his new home in the country.

Shortly after his arrival in Miami, Lionel Messi was asked by a fan for a selfie, when he was walking towards a car with the family. After La Pulga obliged, the fan managed to kiss him on his cheek.
While the Argentine great went about his business, the fan uttered the words in Spanish, translated to English, “LEO, I LOVE YOU BROTHER. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR SO MUCH”.
