If there was ever a series in the most recent times in high-octane Test match cricket that served ample evidence of fast bowlers ruling the roost and coming right on top of spinners, in comparion, then the ongoing India tour of England in 2025 is a fine example of that. This, very clearly, has been a series where spinners have been found wanting, especially on England's side while on the other hand, India haven't really contested with spinners as such. One of the most surprising outcomes this time around was something that came to the team's selection, with someone like Kuldeep Yadav of India not being picked in any Test.

But having said that, the England vs India contests have seen seamers dominating batters even as there has hardly been any dearth of runs with the likes of KL Rahul, Joe Root and Shubman Gill scoring runs in heaps. That being said, what does the list of players with most wickets in England versus India Test series 2025 comprise?

List of players with most wickets in England vs India Test series 2025:

Players Matches Innings Wkts Average Economy
Mohammed Siraj (IND) 5 9 23 33.90 4.02
JC Tongue (ENG) 3 6 19 29.05 4.34
Ben Stokes (ENG) 4 8 17 25.23 3.06
Jasprit Bumrah (IND) 3 5 14 26.00 3.04
Prasidh Krishna (IND) 3 6 14 36.85 4.96
Akash Deep (IND) 3 6 13 36.46 4.34

- On his part, Mohd Siraj as been quite the show stealer for India and the man who has, quite emphatically, gone about his job commitedly and aggressively without offering much respite to the English batters. He recently claimed his 23rd Test wicket of the series and has on times, been the key remover of England's top order and the middle order. His tireless bowling as seen at Edgbaston and The Oval contest, has been the key driver for India's chances of mounting a fightback.

- Jasprit Bumrah has been the classic case of being effective with the red-ball seaming it up nicely, catching the best English bowlers off guard and then, taking heaps in good batches but then his fitness has been a cause of concern. While on the one hand, the man with 14 wickets in the series, which is a respectable number, was found to be lacking in pace in the previous Test match in Manchester, he has been out of the fifth and final Test owing to fitness concerns.

- On the English side of things, their captain courageous and captain marvellous Ben Stokes has led by an example and has emerged as the most successful wicket-taker in a daring and emphatic series. Much like Bumrah, Stokes finds himself out of the fifth Test but by then, has already sealed 17 Indian wickets, these accompanied by a fighting display in Manchester, the fourth game of the series, where he picked a fifer and completed 6 overall wickets.
