India’s marquee star PV Sindhu will take on Indonesian Gregoria Tunjung in the final of the Madrid Spain Masters 2023 on Sunday. The 27-year-old Indian ace was exceptional in the semi-final, as she defeated Singapore’s Jia Min Yeo in straight sets of 24-22 and 22-20 and stormed into the finals. Sindhu is currently on a hot four match winning streak. She is yet to lose a match this week. While PV has reached the finals in the BWF World Tour in 2023 for the first time, t his could be PV’s first major title after the historic Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham last year.
Sindhu has a flawless record against Gregoria Tunjung, winning all the seven matches against her till now. Sindhu will be looking to maintain this unbeaten streak as well. Sindhu does have an edge over her, but Tunjung is not to be taken lightly.
