The Madrid Open is back after almost a year with its 21st edition of the Madrid Open for the Men’s category and the 14th edition for the Women’s category. Carlos Alcaraz is the current defending champion in the Men’s singles category as he defeated Alexander Zverev 6-3, 6-1 in the finals last year. The tournament will be played on its usual clay courts and will be held in the prestigious Park Manzanares Tennis Center which is also known as Caja Mágica.


This is the first year that the men's tournament will be expanded to two weeks, while the men's and women's singles draw will be expanded to 96 players. Rafael Nadal holds the record for most male players with five event titles. The Spaniard won his latest title in Madrid in 2017. This year’s edition will feature stars like Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev and Monte-Carlo champion Andrey Rublev.
