It was this past June when reports emerged around Manchester United’s interest in signing Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, 30, from the Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. While there hasn’t been much progress made in regards to Aleksandar Mitrovic to Manchester United, it is now understood that the other clubs are also looking to potentially sign the proven goal-scorer, namely Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

As per the report published in CaughtOffside, the sources have stated that Newcastle United are looking forward to bringing back their former player, to build the team around star winger Alexander Isak despite him being linked with a move elsewhere. After scoring 28 goals and providing seven assists, albeit for Al-Hilal in Asian football, Aleksandar Mitrovic does have form on his side, which will bode well for him upon his potential return to the Premier League.

Mitrovic signing for Newcastle from Al-Hilal is highly likely due to Saudi Public Investment Fund

There is a real chance of Aleksandar Mitrovic signing for Newcastle United from Al-Hilal since both clubs are owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, who could play the decisive role to get the move done. In the same report, it is stated that Tottenham Hotspur look at the Serbian as a back-up option to striker Dominic Solanke, especially when the likes of Richarlison and Son Heung-min haven’t quite been performing as well as they would like.

While Manchester United are in desperate need of striking enforcements due to the lacklustre returns from Rasmus Hojlund last season, they will find it tough to afford him at around £26 million without outgoings in the ongoing summer transfer window. At the same time, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are expected to splurge out the aforementioned sum of money, which Al-Hilal have reportedly put as an asking price for Aleksandar Mitrovic in the transfer market.
