A new welterweight matchup has been scheduled for June 17 to the UFC Fight Night- Marvin Vettori vs Jared Cannonier as suggested by sources. As per the reports, Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier will lock horns inside the octagon on June 17, which will also be the third straight main event for Cannonier. Cannonier is coming off a victory against Sean Strickland in a split-decision victory. Before Strickland, he was defeated by Israel Adesanya in his title match.
Speaking of Marvin Vettori, he was last seen against Roman Dolidze. If we consider his past records in the UFC, Vettori is 2-2 in his last four fights inside the octagon. The fight between Marvin Vettori and Cannonier will definitely be a critical one while contending for the title for the middleweight division. Currently, Robert Whittaker and Dricus du Plessis are set to play the title eliminator bout, the one who wins between Vettori and Cannonier will be back in the title mix. Speaking of other bouts, Muslim Saikhov will take on Nicolas Dolby on the card.
Notably, in his last clash, Saikhov was seen in action against Andre Fialho in November last year, where he won the clash in third-round TKO. On the other side, Nicolas Dolby was last seen in a fight against Warlley Alves in January this year in UFC 283, where he dominated the bout and won it via split decision. However, the information about the bout between both the fighters is yet to be made official by the UFC.
