The big question right now is - what happened? For starters, there's a confirmed piece of news connected to the iconic McLaren, with respect to a development that has clinched the attention of the wider F1 followers. The famed McLaren team, currently in hot contention of not just the Drivers' world championship but even, most importantly, the Constructors' title have made public their intent of putting their forthcoming - 2026 F1 car - on the auction list.

Even before the car has even been raced either by Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri, the current leading man on the Drivers' title fight, the 2026 F1 car, obviously, yet to be driven, will definitely go under the hammer. So why then What's confirmed information here is that even before the season-ender 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix can be rendered complete (as a matter of fact, just before its completion), McLaren will be interacting with the leding auction house, a legend in the form of RM Sotheby's to put the forthcoming McLaren F1 machine under the hammer.

The date for the same has been decided already and it happens to be December 5, the fag end of the current F1 world championship season. Now having said that, the following is critical information picked up from revered Indian news media, TV 18 network, that happened to highlight that there shall be other two F1 cars, as well, in addition to the yet-to-arrive McLaren drive for 2026, that will be subjected to the very same auction this very year.

It includes tghe 2026 Arrow McLaren Indycar, which will be raced at the Indianapolis 500 next May by Mexican Pato O’Ward, and McLaren’s inaugural 2027 World Endurance Hypercar that will compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
