India and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Mohammed Shami received a death threat through an email. The extortionist demanded a ransom of INR 1 Crore from the star speedster. On behalf of Shami, his brother Haseeb Ahmed registered a complaint against the perpetrator to the police. Haseeb’s complaint alleged that when he disclosed the mail, it was conveyed that Shami will be assassinated if the money demanded by the bully is not received. Shami’s sibling also added that the mail also mentioned a person named Prabhakar from Bengaluru.
Haseeb has requested SP of Amroha Police, Amit Kumar Anand to take stern and swift action against the intimidator. Amroha SP revealed that as per the complaint, the email was received from a sender identified as Rajput Sindhar. “The help of cyber experts is being taken for technical investigation of the e-mail. The police have started the process of identifying and tracing the location of the sender of the email,” said Anand while speaking to the media. A local police official has also confirmed that Amroha Police, along with the crime branch, has become vigilant after receiving the complaint.
Mohammed Shami will be crucial for India in the upcoming Test series in England
Mohammed Shami, who is serving Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, will be essential for Team India’s upcoming Test campaign in England. In the five-match Test series against the English side, the 34-year-old will be expected to form a formidable fast-bowling attack for India.
In the ongoing T20 league, he has struggled to be among the wickets for the Orange Army. Appearing in nine matches, he has got only six wickets at an expensive economy of 11.23. SRH are officially out of the playoffs race after their no-result game against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 5.
