Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj , who is currently in England, playing the five-match Test series against England, is set out on a new endeavour off the cricket field. The Indian pacer, who hails for Hyderabad has followed legend Virat Kohli’s footsteps as he opened his first restaurant, named ‘Joharfa’.
The restaurant, which was opened for public on June 24, is located in the heart of Hyderabad. It is located on Road No. 3 on Banjara Hills , Hyderabad . The restaurant reportedly offers a diverse menu, keeping the touch of the city, boasting special combination of Mughlai spices, Persian and Arabic dishes as well as Chinese dishes.

Speaking on the opening of ‘Joharfa’, Mohammed Siraj said, “Joharfa is very close to my heart. Hyderabad gave me my identity, and this restaurant is my way of giving something back to a place where people can come together, share a meal, and enjoy flavours that feel like home.”
Highlighting on the food experience, Siraj added that the management has employed a team of experienced chefs who will be responsible for the preparations of various dishes. He said, “Joharfa focuses on fresh and high quality ingredients with traditional cooking techniques. ”
Not only the food of the restaurant is being talked about, its ambience has also captured the attention of several, which has the influence of the Hyderabad heritage. The interiors reflect the essence of Hyderabad’s royal past, with its Mughal style arch itectural design , vintage lanterns and traditional decor. Siraj’s elder brother Mohammed Ismail, who co-manages the restaurant with a business partner stated, as quoted in the press release , “We want to serve food that feels like home but surprises with every bite.”
