Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, Team India will lock horns with England in a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series. The Men in Blue have reached Nagpur on Tuesday for the opening ODI contest on February 6. On their arrival, a bizarre incident took place while the Indian team was entering the hotel. With players and other members of the supporting staff entering the hotel, a veteran member was stopped by a police team from joining the team. The incident happened with the team’s throwdown specialist Raghavendra Dwivedi, who has been associated with the team since 2011.
In a video that is making rounds on social media platforms shows a couple of police personnel in front of Radisson Blu Hotel in Nagpur failing to recognise the veteran Team India staff. They were seen denying Raghu entry to the hotel, mistaking him as a Team India supporter. Amidst the scene, a few journalists and fans were seen shouting "Arey coach hai woh. Team ke saath hai. Bus se utra hai. (He's a coach, member of the team. He just deboarded the bus).

However, Raghavendra Dwivedi didn’t panic during the whole situation and tackled the police squad with a smile on his face. After a short period, the issue was solved and Raghvendra was seen entering the hotel to join the team.
Back in 2011, Raghavendra was brought into the team by former India opener Sachin Tendulkar. In his 14 years of stint, Raghavendra has been with the team through thick and thin. As a throwdown specialist, Dwivedi’s job is to help India’s batting unit deliver best with its prowess.
As a throwback specialist, he delivers throwdowns to batters, imitating different match situations. His specialty is replicating balls from speedsters and spinners. His service makes batters adept at tackling challenges during matches.
