Former UFC star Nate Diaz has picked Justin Gaethje as Conor McGregor’s opponent for the latter’s UFC return. Diaz said that ' The Notorious' would easily beat Michael Chandler and expressed his concerns whether the fight would take place. McGregor has been missing out of action in the octagon since his leg injury that he suffered during his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021.

In an interview with All Out Fighting, the two-division UFC winner’s former two-time opponent Nate Diaz made a remark on the same. Diaz said that McGregor would easily beat Chandler. He said, "Chandler is a nice a guy but he's gonna..he's not gonna win. I don't think they're gonna fight though."
Diaz further went on to say McGregor should face Justin Gaethje on his UFC return. He added, "I think Conor and Gaethje should fight. I think that will probably be nice but Gaethje might just act like he's too cool or something, but it shows how much a nerd he is."
The Irishman was expected to return to action soon, and it was announced that he will take on Michael Chandler this year. However, his comeback still remains uncertain as he missed the USADA deadline that would have allowed him to fight in 2023. Hence, there are doubts whether McGregor would face Chandler at all.
