World champion Noah Lyles cruised to victory despite clocking same timing of 9.79 seconds with Kishane Thompson in the men’s 100m at the Paris Olympic Games. Lyles registered the closest Olympic 100m finish in modern history as he bettered his opponent by just five thousandths of second.

While both were given the rounded-up time of 9.79 seconds, but the American carried the 0.784 margin against Jamaica’s Thompson, who stood at 0.789. With this win, Noah Lyles became the first American, male or female to win an event since Justin Gatlin’s gold at the 2004 Athens Games.

While it was the closest margin of victory for Noah Lyles, the post form the fastest man in the world went viral which spoke of his struggles with ailments likes allergies, asthma, dyslexia and others. Moreover, the admiration for the world and Olympic champion grew even more after he revealed that he overcame multiple physical mental ailments to reach this stage.

“I have asthma, allergies, dyslexia, ADD (attention deficit disorder), anxiety, and depression. But I will tell you that what you have does not define what you can become. Why Not You!” he captioned a post on X. 

It is to be noted that Noah’s campaign at the Paris 2024 is not over yet as he is set to compete next in the 200m and 4x100m relay for the Team USA.
