Harbhajan Singh, who is regarded among the best bowlers in Indian cricket, a World Cup winner in the ODI and T20I format, spoke in a recent interview about which Bollywood actor he would want to see play him in his biopic. The 44-year-old revealed that he wants Vicky Kaushal to portray his role in the biopic since both of them come from the same Jalandhar district in the Indian state of Punjab, and speak the same Punjabi language.
During his illustrious cricketing career, Harbhajan Singh played 103 Test matches for India, picking up 417 wickets, while his journey as a limited overs cricketer was just as massive, taking 269 wickets in 236 ODI matches apart from scalping 25 wickets in 28 T20I matches. Apart from his on-field exploits, Harbhajan Singh has been quite a character off the field, and he is currently working on a story around it for the last couple of years.
I think Vicky Kaushal would be an ideal choice: Harbhajan Singh on lead role in his biopic
In his exclusive interview with the Times of India, Harbhajan Singh talked about wanting to see Vicky Kaushal play him in his biopic, while stating that they have a connection with each other, in regards to what they speak and from where they come from. He was quoted as saying, “I think Vicky Kaushal would be an ideal choice. Both he and I are from the same district and speak the same language. I will certainly talk to him.”
Apart from that, Harbhajan Singh also shed light on his tough upbringing in Jalandhar district in the Indian state of Punjab, which led to him working hard to achieve everything in his life. He remarked, “When I was growing up, I had nothing but a dream. To fulfill that dream, you have to stay awake and keep working towards it. I came from Jalandhar. I didn’t even have a cycle. Today, I can say that God has provided me with everything. If it can happen to me, anyone can achieve it, provided they put in the hard work,” he added.
