Prolific Indian batter Virat Kohli is back in India after winning the Test and three-match ODI series against West Indies. The star batter is, however, not a part of the T20I squad currently playing the five-match T20I series, along with Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja to name a few.

However, the former India skipper was in news after Hopper HQ released Instagram Rich List of celebrities. Hopper, a social media marketing solutions platform on August 8 released a list which included Kohli, making him the third highest earned athlete as well as the top among cricketers.

With the Kohli doing rounds on social media for the same, the Indian cricketer took to Twitter to issue a clarification on the same on Saturday, August 12. In his tweet, Kohli said, “While I am grateful and indebted to all that I’ve received in life, the news that has been making rounds on social media earning is not true.”

According to the list released by Hopper HQ, Kohli earns over INR 11.45 Crore per post and is third athlete only after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, taking the top spot in the overall list.

Kohli, who is on a break is all set to break Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record of becoming the fastest batter to 13000 runs in ODI cricket. The stalwart is set to play a key role in India’s campaign at the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place later this year in India.
