Nottingham Forest are set to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga in a £15 million deal, according to various reports. Elanga will have a medical in Nottingham over the weekend before becoming the second summer signing for manager Steve Cooper. The 21-year-old Sweden international has been told he can leave United this summer after struggling to break into the first team under Erik Ten Hag.

Elanga made 16  appearances for the Red Devils last season, scoring goals with just one assist, and fell down the pecking order amid competition from the likes of Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho. The 21-year-old has reportedly rejected offers from Everton, West Ham, and Marseille to join Forest, who agreed a fee with United. Elanga will end a nine-year association with United to move to the City Ground, where he will hope to play regular football and showcase his potential as per The Times.

Forest is working on a number of other signings as they prepare for their second successive season in the Premier League. Cooper’s plans have been boosted by the arrival of Ola Aina, the Nigeria international, who joined on a free transfer from Torino. Manchester United’s Dean Henderson also remains their top target and talks are understood to have progressed in the last 24 hours.
