Damian Lillard’s future in the NBA is up in the air with the Portland Trail Blazers point guard linked with Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and Brooklyn Nets. Lillard recently told the reporters that he wouldn’t mind being traded to the Heat or Nets. Recently, TNT’s Chris Haynes reported it was “pretty safe to say” Lillard won’t land in Boston after laughing at a question about the possibility.

Lillard had an incredible individual season in 2022-23 even though his Blazers missed the playoffs and received the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He averaged 32.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.8 rebounds in 58 games this season.

As the reports continue to go around it is practically ruled out that Lillard will move to Boston.  Celtics player Jayson Tatum made an appearance in Lillard’s Instagram Live comment section and joked about his reported disinterest in joining the Celtics.  "Damn we get it you don’t like Boston," Tatum wrote along with two laughing face emojis. This message caught Lillard’s attention and shot back in a hilarious fashion as he said, "Now y’all got my boy JT on here offended."

After another disappointing season, he is rumored to end his 11-year stay at the Portland Trailblazers with Heat and Nets being the probable destinations. He has not yet requested a trade but is keeping the doors open for a move.
