India's first individual gold medallist at the Olympics,  Abhinav Bindra  spoke about being patient with  Vinesh Phogat's   Court of Arbitration for Sport appeal for a silver medal after being disqualified from the 50kg Women's Freestyle Wrestling Final. Phogat was on a dream run as she took down the undefeated world champion  Yui Susaki in the first round and then zoomed to the final of the event.

But on the day of the gold medal match,  Vinesh Phogat missed her weight by 100 grams and was disqualified from competing in the final.  A few hours later, Vinesh announced her retirement from wrestling and launched an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport to seek a silver medal following her historic run to the final.

One just has to be patient: Abhinav Bindra wants Vinesh Phogat's CAS' Verdict

Since the appeal, the CAS had a hearing and a decision is yet to be made. Addressing this situation, Bindra revealed that one needs to be patient and support Vinesh Phogat in these times.  As per India Today, Bindra said,  "But, of course, I fully empathise with Vinesh. It’s an incredibly difficult time for her. Everybody’s heart is broken."

"We are all there for her. I had the opportunity to meet her as well.  I really don’t know where this would end. I know the decision, now, has been postponed for a couple of days. So, I think one just has to be patient. I am not privy to the arguments that have been made, I am no legal expert. So patience is the key," he continued.
