The Patna Pirates moved into the top six after defeating Bengal Warriors 44-28 in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 on Friday. Speaking about the match, Patna Pirates' Head Coach Narender Redu said, "We needed to stop Maninder Singh and Nitin Kumar and our defence unit executed its plans against them brilliantly. Sachin led the side very well and controlled his performance as well. Manjeet and Sandeep also put up good performances."
Meanwhile, Patna Pirates' Captain Sachin said, "We've moved into the top six with this victory. We need to win all four of our home games. If the team plays like the way we played against the Warriors, then we'll certainly win all of our home games. It feels great to see the team play emphatically."
Local player Sandeep Kumar chipped in with 4 raid points in the match. When asked about playing in front of his home fans in Patna, Kumar said, "I felt no pressure on the mat as our coach told me to play freely. And it was great to play in front of our fans as well. They motivated me to perform well and I'll look to keep putting up good performances in the future as well."
The Patna Pirates will take on Puneri Paltan in their next match on Saturday. Speaking about their next encounter, the Head Coach said, "The Puneri Paltan has a good team. They have a balanced squad. However, our raiders have been playing well. We'll devise a strong plan for them and we'll execute it on the mat. We'll take confidence from our performance against the Bengal Warriors. It'll be a good contest against Puneri Paltan."
The Patna Pirates will be up against Puneri Paltan, Gujarat Giants and Bengaluru Bulls in their next three home games.
