In the ongoing first T20 International (T20I) between Bangladesh and Pakistan, the former’s captain Litton Das won the toss and elected to field first at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The hosts’ bowling-unit has done a magnificent job in the game so far. In the match’s second over, pacer Taskin Ahmed got rid of opener Saim Ayub, who could amass only six runs from his bat. In the next over, Mahedi Hasan got wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris caught at the hands of Shamim Hossain. Captain Salman Ali Agha and Hassan Nawaz also failed to be impactful in the crunch situation and got dismissed within the first powerplay.
Mohammad Nawaz, who has made a comeback in T20Is after a long time, got run out while stealing a run in the eighth over. Fakhar Zaman’s responsibility was to stabilise Pakistan’s innings but he also got run out during his stand with Khushdil Shah. Zaman went back to the pavilion after accumulating 44 off 34. Noting Pakistan’s unprecedented batting collapse, netizen are showing mercy on the Men in Green. An X user named Zoia Zahid wrote, “Pakistani batting is nothing but a worse form of disaster. #PakvsBan #BANvPAK.”
