Siddhant Beri, who was pursuing B.B.A. LL. B (Hons) at the Jindal Global Law School , collapsed on the football field in August this year. He was immediately sent to the hospital, but all attempts of doctors went in vain as Beri succumbed to cardiac arrest.

The late law student aspired to witness the FIFA World Cup LIVE in Qatar, but unfortunately could not fulfil his dream. His parents, Rahat and Nitin made all their efforts to make their son’s dreams come true. They even booked a trip to Qatar on the occasion of his 21st birthday but destiny certainly had other plans.

In this regard, Siddhant’s parents, who were shell-shocked and shattered by the demise of their son held onto their promise. They made their way to Qatar and decided to pay a tribute to Siddhant. For every match they witnessed from the stands, they carried different banners. The first one read,  “We love you, Siddhanth Beri. You are with us today”, the other noted, “U, Us, United in Universe”.

“We came to Qatar to fulfill Siddhanth’s wish,” Mumbai-based Rahat Beri accompanied by her husband Nitin told TOI. "Our son is a lover of sports, hugely passionate, who followed squash, football and chess. He loved football more than anything else."

Although the world may be divided on the debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, he admired both footballers. He followed Ronaldo for his discipline while idolizing Messi for his talent.

Further, Siddhant’s mother revealed that they watched World Cup matches in Russia, but never clicked the pictures. She added that they celebrated Siddhant’s love for the game in big matches involving Argentina, Portugal, England, and France.

“Siddhanth watched a few games in Russia (at the World Cup) but never clicked pictures. It was about enjoying the moment, the beauty of football. We did the same in Doha. I was screaming, shouting, cheering, just reliving all the memories. I celebrated him. It was a fabulous feeling,” said Rahat.
