The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released a statement in which it has termed the online reports of a tussle between members of the men’s national side, mainly captain Salman Ali Agha and coach Mike Hesson towards premier fast bowler Shaheen Afridi, completely baseless and incorrect. A report went viral on the social media platform X for claiming that the leadership of the Pakistan team are facing personality issues against Shaheen Afridi, however after anger against the writer of the post for no evidence of these facts, the post was deleted.
After this incident, PCB emerged into the scene and clarified that their players and staff are having no issues within the team set-up and the fake news spreaders will face legal actions for defaming the side. "The Pakistan Cricket Board categorically denies the baseless, fabricated, and defamatory allegations currently being circulated on social media pertaining to an alleged incident involving Shaheen Afridi, team captain Salman Ali Agha, and a member of the coaching staff. The PCB considers this a serious and premeditated defamation campaign, which is aimed at damaging the professional integrity of the individuals targeted and the collective environment of the squad,” read PCB’s statement.
