Vidarbha have set the foundation for a big total in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 semi-final match against Mumbai at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha. Dhruv Shorey and Danish Malewar scored respective half-centuries as Vidarbha finished day one at 308 runs for the loss of five wickets. Apart from that, Karun Nair and Yash Rathod also scored crucial 40s for Vidarbha on day one.
Coming to bat first after winning the toss, Vidarbha lost their first wicket at the score of 39 runs in 10.2 overs as Atharva Taide went back to the pavilion with just 4(20) runs to his name. After that, Dhruv Shorey and Parth Rekhade added 54 runs for the second wicket. Rekhade got out after scoring 23(64) runs, after that Danish Malewar joined Shorey at the crease. Shorey and Malewar put a up partnership of 51 runs for the third wicket.

Dhruv Shorey got out after scoring 74 runs off 109 balls, hitting nine boundaries. After that, Danish Malewar and Karun Nair took charge of the innings as the duo put up a partnership of 78 runs for the fourth wicket. Malewar was a top scorer with 79 runs off 157 balls with seven fours and a six, while Karun Nair scored 45(70) runs, hitting six boundaries. By the end of day one, Yash Rathod and skipper Akshay Wadkar were at the crease as Vidharbha finished on 308/5.
Yash Rathod is just three runs away from his fifty as he is currently unbeaten on 47*(86) runs with six boundaries while Akshay Wadkar is unbeaten on 13*(35) runs. For Mumbai, Shivam Dube and Shams Mulani scalped two wickets each while Royston Dias put one in his bag.
