Wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul came up with his second half-century of the season as Delhi Capitals registered fourth consecutive win in IPL 2025 defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. After a 77-run knock in the last game against Chennai Super Kings, Rahul went on to play another match-winning knock and guided DC to a convincing win despite losing early wickets while chasing 164 runs. 

Talking about the match, batting first RCB posted 163 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. Phil Salt and Tim David scored 37(17) runs and 37*(20) runs each while Virat Kohli and skipper Rajat Patidar contributed with 22 runs and 25 runs respectively. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam took two wickets each while Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma scalped a wicket each.

KL Rahul - Tristan Stubbs take DC home after disastrous

Chasing the winning target, DC had a poor start as they lost three wickets for just 30 runs in 4.3 overs with Jake Fraser-McGurk, Faf du Plessis and Abisehk Porel going back to the pavilion. After that, skipper Axar Patel and KL Rahul did a little recovery but couldn’t score further as Patel got out after scoring 15(11) runs reducing DC to 58/4 in 8.4 overs.

After that, KL Rahul took the innings further and went on to complete his half-century in 37 balls. He also got a support from Tristan Stubbs as the duo put up an unbeaten partnership of 111 runs to take DC home. Stubbs remained unbeaten on 38*(23) runs hitting four fours and three sixes, while Rahul finished the game with a six. The right-hander scored an unbeaten 93* runs off 53 balls with seven fours and six sixes. He was awarded player of the match for his knock that guided DC to their fourth win of the season.
