It has been an interesting journey for Karun Nair who finally got a chance to make a comeback in the Indian team for the upcoming five-Test series in England starting on June 20. The 33-year-old was rewarded for his constant form in the domestic season last year and has been included in India’s 18-member squad for England. Apart from that, Nair has also been included in India A’s squad and has already started practicing in England ahead of the practice matches against England Lions starting from May 30.

Karun Nair shared a few glimpses of his practice session on Instagram before taking the field against England Lions. He shared the post with a caption “Out and about #prep.” Reacting to Nair’s post, former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen shared a small piece of advice for the Indian batter in the comment section. Pietersen wrote “Play Straight, Be Great” on Nair’s Insta post.

Karun Nair aim to get his break on England tour

Karun Nair is only the second player after Virender Sehwag to hit a triple ton in Test cricket after he smashed a famous 303* against England back in 2016. However, he couldn’t be a permanent member of the Indian team and has been out of India’s red ball plans from the last eight years. However, after his memorable performance in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy where he amassed 863 runs from nine matches, Karun Nair finally got the recognition from the selectors and has been included in the Indian squad for England.

Earning limelight for his triple ton against England back in December 2016, Nair will be looking to get another memorable knock against the same opponent in the upcoming tour. India are scheduled to play five Test matches against the hosts from June 20 to August 4.
