The Board of Control for Cricket in India has included Ravichandran Ashwin in Team India's squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. Recently, reports have emerged that the Indian spin all-rounder will make his appearance in a local One-Day game ahead of the Australia series.
In their last ODI series in March this year, India lost the three-match series 2-1 against Australia after winning the opening game. The Men in Blue will look to win the series to enter the ODI World Cup 2023 in India with a dominating approach.

Ashwin, who replaced injured Axar Patel in the Indian squad, was recently spotted training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), under the guidance of chief VVS Laxman and spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule. The 37-year-old all-rounder, who has played just 2 ODIs in the past six years, is expected to feature in a league of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
The VAP Trophy’s one-day league is underway, and Ashwin will play for the Take Solution MRPA side against Young Stars at the SSN College Ground on Tuesday. Cricket commentator and analyst Harsha Bhogle has also confirmed that Ashwin will feature in the tournament. Bhogle wrote on X, "Trust @ashwinravi99 to play for Take Solution MRPA against Young Stars at the SSN College Ground before joining the Indian team again. Probably wants to get into the rhythm of bowling in 50 overs cricket again but I am sure there is something else ticking in that mind."
"He wants to spend some time on the ground, and a 50-over game will provide him with that opportunity. He recently visited the NCA for routine maintenance work on his body and to hone his skills under the guidance of spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule. He’s determined to prepare himself comprehensively for any and all challenges," Cricbuzz quoted a TNCA official as saying.
